What's Up Wednesday!

First up, I'd like to wish a Happy Birthday to my dear ole Dad! :-) I am a true Daddy's girl.

Since this is the last Wednesday of July (WHAT?!?!?), it's time for another Shay's What's Up Wednesday post.
What We're Eating This Week:
Two words: BIRTHDAY CAKE!!!! :-)

Other than that, tonight we will be having fried pork chops.
They're not the healthiest, but they do taste awesome! :-)

What I'm Reminiscing About:

Where did the summer go?!?!? It still seems like yesterday was the first day of summer break. Agh!!!
I'm also reminiscing about my 1st year wedding anniversary. It's crazy to think how a whole year goes by in the blink of an eye. I guess time flies when your having fun......

What I'm Loving:

I am loving all the stuff I picked up from the Target Dollar Spot! I stare at it everyday.
I can't wait till I can get in my classroom and get it set up. Yay for being in a new school! Boo for construction! :-)

I'm also loving having time to spend with my family. They are the funniest people I know and they help keep my sane and grounded. This summer has been a blessing because I have gotten to spend a lot of time with family members. :-)

What We've Been Up To:
This past weekend we went to one of my teacher friend's wedding. It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I mean right off a wedding magazine cover.
The food was good. The bride was gorgeous. The music was pumping. What more could you ask for?

I also am on day 6 out of 21 in my progress of getting fit. That's not bad only 15 more days to go. I am seeing some improvement already. Hopefully it continues.

What I'm Dreading:
Unpacking all the boxes that will be in my classroom before getting to decorate. Thank goodness I will have some help.
At the beginning, while I was packing up my room I had a system. By the end, it became a "throw everything in one box and label random" kind of packing.
Anyone else do this???? :-)

What I'm Working On:
Grad school stuff. I am a type of person who likes to get a head start. So I have been reading, outlining, and answering questions on the books that I have to read for my courses. So far I am finding it very interesting. This book is all about personality traits and how it affects a person's leadership abilities.
I instantly fell in love with this book because it had me take 2 quizzes to figure out what type of leader I am. I LOVE quizzes. :-)

What I'm Excited About:
Oh my! So much! Where to begin....
1.) Hopefully getting into the new school soon

2.) Getting ready to start a new school year

3.) My new purse that I got in the mail today (QVC). Hubby, if your ready I promise I didn't spend that much on it. :-)

4.) The progress of my hubby's building that he is putting up

5.) Grad school starting in August

What I'm Watching/Reading:
Of course, right now I am semi-watching HGTV (Buying and Selling), love Drew and Jonathan.
I am reading my grad school book, Finding Your Leadership Style.

What I'm Listening To:
Currently, I am listening to Bad Blood by Taylor Swift. Yes, I'm a swify. Love my girl T-Swift. :-)

What I'm Wearing:
Usually, I can either be seen in shorts and a tank, exercise clothes, or my p.j.'s. On the rare occasion that I am running errands, I dress up a little more. :-)

What I'm Doing This Weekend:
This weekend, I have plans of spending some time with the hubby. He is having a guy come out to pour concrete for his building. I am hoping to get to put my handprint somewhere... :-)

What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month:
1.) School (grad and my job) starting
2.) Hubby's birthday
3.) Hopefully planning a friend date
4.) Seeing more results from 21 Day Fix Extreme

What Else Is New:
Nothing too much. I think I covered everything and then some above.

Have a wonderful Wednesday, everyone!!

Assess Me!

Thanks to Jill from Chevron and Centers who posted about a fun link-up to help everyone get to know the people behind the blogs, I found a little link-up from Rachel from The Tattooed Teacher.

You know I'm a sucker for blog link-ups.

This one is a get to know me.

Yes, I do talk to myself....a lot. (Doesn't everybody?!?!)
I am superstitious...I won't absolutely WON'T pick up a penny unless it is heads up, will not walk under ladders, and will never ever break a mirror. I am not that superstitious when it comes to black cats though, they are just to cute. :-)
I do crack my knuckles. I know some people think it's gross. I think it's a nervous habit.
I'm not really hungry. I just had a little baggies of veggie straws....:-)
My T.V. is usually on. Either on QVC, HGTV, or watching DVDs of Pretty Little Liars.
Unfortunately, I do not have my wisdom teeth. No extra wisdom for me. :-/ I had them taken out when I was in high school because of having braces. Let me tell ya, it was not the best thing in the world.
Showering?!?! Really?!?! I generally shower every day. :-)
I have never been to Disney...I know I know....
I do not wear glasses, but I already have the ones I want picked out in case I need them in the near future.
Yup, I still live in my hometown. Born here, raised here, and will die here. :-)

If you would like to join in on the fun, head on over to Rachel's blog.

Five for Friday

I love linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for her Five for Friday posts. My week has been pretty busy and it's looking like the weekend is too.

I went to Target this week and stopped by the Dollar Spot. Wow! Look at all the stuff I got!

My loot includes:
-bulletin board pendants
-4 packs of gel clings (yes I needed all 4)
-word strips and pocket chart
-8 packs of stickers (I will have stickers until I retire)
-dry erase labels (so cool)
-stamp pads
-wood sign
-stamps
-2 packs of pencils
-and 3 packs of Dr. Seuss erasers

All the items were either $1 or $3!!!!

Now I just need to get into my school! :-/

On the same day that I went to Target, I walked by Shoe Dept. and saw that they were having a sale. SCORE!!! So, I went inside which was a bad idea totally awesome idea and found these babies for $20 each! Now, I am on the search for some really comfortable high heels/wedges.

I just love sparkly things......can't you tell?!?!?  :-)

I also decided to start 21 day Fix Extreme. At first, I was between 21 Day Fix or 21 Day Fix Extreme, but I decided that I love torture so why not try the Extreme. :-) The very first exercise opened my eyes. Boy was I sweating. I also decided to try Shakeology. If you would like to know more feel free to comment on this post with your email address or email me and I will answer your questions.

I will post with my progress as soon as I get deeper into the program (just got it on Monday), but I am already starting to feel stronger and more energized.

Also, while on my shopping trip, I stepped into Petco because I always like to treat my furry baby. I ended up buying a Star Wars Ewok. Rossco loves it!
(P.S. My hubby is a huge Star Wars fan too!)
((P.P.S. That's the only reason I knew what these were called, usually I just call them little teddy bears lol))

Isn't he so stinkin' cute! I also picked up some treats. You know the kind I'm talking about. The gourmet ones that are up front and they sell them for $4.99 a pound. These are the ones I picked up!

I can't get over how there are two that look like Oreo cookies and Chips Ahoy cookies. Crazy?!?! :-)

Going to the Chapel and we're gonna get married! No, not me! :-) One of my good friends, who is a 4th grade teacher, is getting married tomorrow!!! I can't wait to dance it up!!! :-) I love going to weddings and also can't wait to see my best friend, Chelsee!! :-)

Hope you have a great weekend and make a run to Target for me! :-)

My Favorite Picture(s)

I am linking up with Miss. Monica at I Heart Grade 3 for her weekly summer link up.

The topic for today is:

Oh boy! This one is going to be hard because I have soooo many favorite pictures. Eventually I decided to do them all.

1.)

This is one of the very first pictures that was taken after becoming a wife to an amazing man! Our wedding was everything we had hoped for and more. We were surrounded by our friends and family who have helped and continue to help shape our relationship for the better!

2.)

Of course, you can't forget your best friend in a picture. Chelsee, is a true best friend! Although I didn't meet her till college, I feel like I have known her my whole life. She is crazy (in a good way), outgoing, and determined. I am so glad to have met her and I think she is a wonderful person. :-)

3.)

When I did my first half of my student teaching placement, I was blessed to have been put with Marla Patton. Marla helped me grow into the teacher that I am today. Sometimes when I'm teaching I will say/do something and in my head I will think oh my I sound like Marla. The sentences were part of the students' morning work that they had to correct. After graduating from college, I was lucky to get a job where I get to work with Marla and a bunch of other inspiring colleagues everyday! :-)
4.)

College graduation! This day was filled with a lot of emotion as it was the ending of one journey and the starting of getting a real job!

Pictures are worth a thousand words. Whenever I log in to my computer these are the pictures that I always stop and look at. They are just a few of the greatest moments of my life that have happened this far. There will be many more to come!!! :-)

Tell All Tuesday!

It's that time of the week again! Tell All Tuesday! I am so glad that Jayme from Teach Talk Inspire and Diana from My Day in K have done this link-up in the summer because it helps me keep my days straight......sort of. :-)

I am so excited to share this post with you!!! Today's topic is

1.) Comfy and Cute Chairs
Pinneds from Picasaweb

Pinned from Oh The Lessons Learned

Pinned from Zulily
These chairs just scream, "Sit on me!" :-) I would love to have enough space in my classroom for the Dr. Seuss chair. But, then I would probably never get up. :-)

The other chairs are just so cute and colorful. I mean who wouldn't want those in their room.

2.) A Reading Center with lots of room + Bean Bags!!!
Pinned from 2nd Grade Stuff

I had bean bags in my room, but not an organized center like this. I would love to have enough space to create a little library with labeled bins and a designated spot for bean bags.....(sigh)

3.) An Organized + Cute Desk Area
Pinned from Time Two Teach

Every year, I set out with the intention of having a really cute and functionally desk area. My first year I put wrapping paper around my desk. That lasted I think a week or two before the kids had it ripped. Last year, I decided to put my name on the front and leave it blank until I decided a better way to decorate it. My blank desk was quickly filled up with student artwork. That was fine with me. :-)
This year I vow to have a cute desk area!!! :-)

4.)Some type of flexible seating
Pinned from Good Housekeeping

These stools are so cute and inexpensive to make. I think I can tackle this project!! I'm also a sucker for anything chevron.

5.) Some way of showing what is going on in the classroom throughout the year.
Pinned from This Teacher Sweats Glitter

I am a huge fan of social media. Although I feel that at times we are oversharing. I have always wanted a way to start a sort of modern timeline for my classroom. What better way to do that then through an Instagram bulletin board. I love this idea and can't wait to set up something similar in my classroom.

6.) Chalkboard EVERYTHING!!!
Pinned from Design Improvised

Pinned from A Modern Teacher

Okay so maybe it's because I'm a teacher, or maybe it's because I love everything rustic/vintage. I am a chalkboard addict. Lol. :-) I have a ton of chalkboard items surrounding me as I type. You can never have enough chalkboard space either.

I love the fact of turning something that could be taking up space into something useful!

7.) A Pancake Floor Pillow
Pinned from Oddee

This one is just so cool/weird. Who wouldn't love a floor pillow shaped like pancakes complete with a little tab of butter on the top. Haha! I LOVE it!!!

I can't wait to read all about everyone else's dream classrooms. If you would like to join in one the fun, click one of the links above to get started!

TpT Makeover + New Products

If any one has been following my TpT store, then you have noticed that I have been posting a lot of new products.

However, if you're not following my store feel free to click the link here: Teaching in Bows, Pearls, and Glitter

One of my new products is a Readers' Theater for the classic book, Tops and Bottoms.

I used this in my classroom and the kids absolutely LOVED it! They wanted to perform the play over and over again. :-)

Another product is my IEP Meeting Reminder Notes. These can be printed on Post-Its and given to teachers to remind them of the upcoming meeting. I know how busy teachers are and sometimes remembering there is an IEP meeting is the last thing on their mind. So, these Post-Its can be stuck anywhere! :-)

My last and newest of my products is my Apples to Apples Multiplication Activities packet.

When I was teaching my students their multiplication facts, a lot of them had trouble remembering or just didn't practice at home. I used this product as a center for extra practice.

The students would cut out the multiplication facts on the apples and glue them to the correct tree or basket. They had a lot of fun and when I collected them I could see which students need help on which multiplication fact. :-)

I will continue to add more multiplication activities because right now I only have 0 & 1 facts. Eventually, I will have them all. :-) *Working on more today*

If you decide to purchase one of my products, thank you SOOOO much! I appreciate every purchase, rating, and follower I get! :-)
